Beverage - Winkler

Thumbnail

Beverage - Winkler Alyssa Lauren Winkler, daughter of Steven and Monica Nijoka Winkler of Baton Rouge married Nicholas Michael Beverage, son of Michael and Chris Beverage of Charlotte, NC. Rabbi's Sarah Smiley and Barry Weinstein officiated the ceremony at 6 o'clock in the evening, January 11, 2025 at the Unified Jewish Congregation of Baton Rouge. Rabbi Weinstein performed the family tradition by officiating the wedding of Alyssa's parents and her two sisters. The Bride was escorted by her father, her mother met them a short distance from the Chuppah. In the Jewish faith both parents lead their children to the Chuppah and to marriage. No one is "given away." The Jewish processional demonstrates how a marriage is a union of families, not just individuals. Before entering the Chuppah, Alyssa circled Nick three times and then Nick circled her three times. On the seventh time, they joined hands and circled together. The seven circles represent the seven days of creation, as the marriage is the creation of a new family circle. The wedding took place under the Chuppah, a symbol of the home to be build and shared by the couple, open on all sides, just as the bride and groom's home will always be open to others. The bridal gown was floor length featuring a deep v-neckline with spaghetti straps made of crystal beads, a natural waistline, that combines opulent beadwork, sequins and tulle with an Art Deco motif. She carried a bouquet of pristine white roses as the focal point, with delicate hydrangeas, and peonies. The Chuppah was decorated with hydrangeas and eucalyptus. Attending the bride were her matrons of honor: Megan Winkler Stines and Sara Winkler Hurwitz. The bridesmaids were Lynn Brown, Emily Malter, Skye Jeansonne, Emma Barron, Lexi Reese, Sarah and Emma Beverage. Best man was Hank Coffey. Groomsmen were Cre Barber, Kendall Wix, Harrison Regan, David Bosarge, Sam Butts. Terrance Perez, Mason Brittain and Andy Beverage. The ring bearer was Eli David Hurwitz. The reception was held at the City Club of Baton Rouge. The rehearsal dinner was held at the Unified Jewish Congregation of Baton Rouge, hosted by the groom and his father.
