PUBLIC NOTICE LOUISIANA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY (LDEQ) DRAFT REVISED TOTAL MAXIMUM DAILY LOAD (TMDL) The LDEQ, Office of Environmental Services, is accepting written comments regarding the draft revised TMDL for Bayou Verret, Bayou Chevreuil, Bayou Citamon, and Grand Bayou TMDL for Biochemial Oxygen-Demanding Substances, Subsegment 020101. The referenced subsegment is covered by agency interest number 91181 and extends from Donaldsonville, LA southward to Thibodaux, LA and westward to Lac des Allemands. The subsegment lies within Ascension, Assumption, St. James, Lafourche, and St. John the Baptist Parishes. The land adjacent to the waterbody is primarily wetland and agricultural with some rural residential and urban areas. There are approximately 100 point source dischargers and one municipal separate stormwater sewer system (MS4) located within the study area. The final approved revised TMDLs will be incorporated into Volume 8 of the Louisiana Water Quality Management Plan upon public review and approval by the U.S. EPA as needed.
