PUBLIC NOTICE - - - VILLAGE OF NORWOOD MEETING OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN REGULAR SESSION January 8, 2026 The Mayor and Board of Aldermen met in regular session at the Norwood Town Hall on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. with Mayor Becky Bellue presiding. Aldermen Ronnie Jett, Trey Poole and Kimmi Sellers were present. All motions carried unanimously unless otherwise noted. A motion was made by Ald Jett and was seconded by Ald. Poole approving the minutes of the previous meeting. A motion was made by Ald. Poole and was seconded by Ald. Sellers approving the financial statement from December, as well as payment of the new bills for January. A motion was made by Ald. Sellers and was seconded by Ald. Poole to add CWEF Application to the agenda. OLD BUSINESS: 1. Police Report – Police unit is in the shop for repair. 2. Fire Report – Fire Chief Jimmy Garig reported that he’d been doing a lot of cleaning up and maintenance around the station. 3. Maintenance Report – Kohnke Rogillio reported that everything was pretty routine in December. 4. Clerk’s Report –Jennie Jelks reminded everyone that it was time to start thinking about Sexual Harassment and Ethics training for the new year. 5. LGAP – After much discussion, a motion was made by Ald. Sellers and was seconded by Ald. Jett to work on overlay on Pine Street and Thompson Creek Road. NEW BUSINESS: 1. Beer & Liquor License – Jennie Jelks reminded the Board that this is the month for renewal of beer and liquor license renewals for Jett’s and beer license for S&W Café. 2. LJCC – Jennie Jelks informed the board that one of the withholdings that come from police citation and is paid to the state has increased from $.50 a ticket to $2.50 a ticket. Ald. Jett said that we should consider adjusting the price of citations to accommodate the increase. 3. CWEF – A motion was made by Ald. Poole and was seconded by Ald. Sellers to apply to continue the 6” water line going south on Main Street. There being no further business to discuss, a motion to adjourn was made by Ald. Sellers and seconded by Ald. Poole.
