PUBLIC NOTICE - - - ORDINANCE 2026-06 CITY OF ZACHARY PARISH OF EAST BATON ROUGE STATE OF LOUISIANA ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF ZACHARY TO IMPLEMENT THE GENERAL FUND, UTILITY FUND, SPECIAL REVENUE FUND AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND BUDGETS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING JULY 1, 2026 AND ENDING JUNE 30, 2027 WHEREAS, as it is a requirement of the Home Rule Charter for the City of Zachary (the “City”) §2-09 (A)(4), §5-02 and §5-05 that the City prepare, submit, adopt and implement general fund, utility fund, special revenue fund and capital improvement fund budgets for each fiscal year, and WHEREAS, the budget message of the Mayor together with the introduction of the general fund, utility fund, special revenue fund and capital improvement fund budgets for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2026 and ending June 30, 2027 are required to be submitted, presented and introduced at the regular meeting of the City Council. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Zachary at a regular meeting of the City Council convened, that the said budgets and program having been presented by Mayor on this 28th day of April, 2026, and that the required public hearing having been duly called for, duly advertised and held on the ________ day of ________, 2026 that: The general fund, utility fund, special revenue fund and capital improvement fund budgets for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2026 and ending June 30, 2027, as attached hereto and made a part hereof are adopted and approved. That Mayor David McDavid to the best of his information and belief has hereby certified that there will be sufficient funds necessary to accomplish these appropriations. This Ordinance shall become effective at the expiration of ten (10) calendar days after publication by the City Council for the City of Zachary unless the referenced ordinance shall specify another effective date, all pursuant to § 2-10 (C) of the Home Rule Charter adopted by the electors for the City of Zachary.
