PUBLIC NOTICE - - - Notice is hereby given that Louis Cheramie has applied for a 401 Water Quality Certification to fill an abandoned sand mining borrow pit with 201,456 cubic yards of processed material that is derived from the treatment of offshore exploration and production waste, along with unused cement and barite mixed with water, for shoreline and LA-1 stabilization and marsh restoration purposes. The proposed material that is derived from the treatment of offshore exploration and production waste will come from the Clean Waste, LLC, Fourchon Dock Facility (AI189416, LPDES Permit No. LA0127550). The processed material will be transported to the site the same day it is processed by Clean Waste, LLC. Approximately 35,582 cubic yards of hauled-in dirt will be placed on top of the processed fill material, cement, and barite. All work will occur off LA-1 in Golden Meadow, Lafourche Parish. Louis Cheramie is applying to the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, Office of Environmental Services, for a Water Quality Certification in accordance with statutory authority contained in the LAC 33: IX.1507.A-E and provisions of Section 401 of the Clean Water Act.
