MARY PARISH SCHOOL BOARD ________________________________________ The St. Mary Parish School Board (SMPSB) is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as its next Superintendent of Schools. St. Mary Parish has approximately 50,000 citizens and is located about 45 minutes south of Lafayette and 60 minutes west of New Orleans. The SMPSB serves a diverse population of 7,022 students at 21 schools with 1580 employees. It has an annual operating budget of approximately $122,000,000.00 Qualifications: Applicants must be certified as a superintendent in Louisiana at the time of application or eligible for immediate certification, as confirmed in writing by the LDOE at the time of application. You must furnish your LDOE confirmation of certification along with your completed application. Please note that the applicant must possess the credentials which entitle him/her to serve as the district’s superintendent. Each applicant must meet or exceed, as of the date of application, the qualifications for superintendent listed in Bulletin 746 Louisiana Standards for State Certification of School Personnel.
