PUBLIC NOTICE - - - (NOTICE OF INTENTION TO INTRODUCE LOCAL BILL – HLS 26RS-75) Public notice is hereby given, as provided by Section 13, Article III of the Constitution of Louisiana, that there will be introduced at the forthcoming session of the Legislature of Louisiana, to be convened on March 9, 2026, a bill relative to Orleans Parish; to create and provide for the Faubourg Nouveau Marigny Improvement District; to provide relative to the boundaries, purpose, governance, and powers and duties of the district; to provide for district funding, including the imposition of a parcel fee, subject to voter approval, as follows: a flat fee not to exceed $100 per year for improved residential parcels; a flat fee not to exceed $25 per year for improved residential parcels whose owner qualifies for a special assessment; a flat fee not to exceed $100 per year for improved commercial parcels; a flat fee not to exceed $500 per year for unimproved commercial and residential parcels; a flat fee not to exceed $200 per year for improved parcels used for both commercial and residential purposes; a flat fee not to exceed $100 per year for improved parcels used for both commercial and residential purposes whose owner qualifies for a homestead exemption; and no fee imposed on improved parcels used for both commercial and residential purposes whose owner qualifies for a homestead exemption and a special assessment; to authorize the district's board to increase the fee, without election, not to exceed the maximum amount; and to provide for related matters. 174442-jan 21-22-23-3t $87.73
