Description: Proposed long-term maintenance dredging for the CP1 LNG marine berthing area (previously authorized under P20150857). A hydraulic dredge will be used to remove accumulated sediment within the existing marine berthing area. A temporary 9.7-milelong, large-diameter slurry pipeline will be installed from the marine berthing area to transport dredged material and beneficially place it within 518.6 acres of open water and highly fragmented marsh within the CPNWR over a three-phased dredging cycle. It is anticipated that the same land-based portion of the slurry pipeline to be installed for Calcasieu Pass Loop maintenance dredging (P20230391) and CP2 LNG (P20211131) marine facilities construction will be used for the proposed CP1 maintenance dredging. Approximately 2,596,854 cubic yards of waterbottom material will be hydraulically dredged and used beneficially to create marsh. REVISION 1: Proposed expansion of the beneficial use of dredged material (BUDM) placement area on the CPNWR East Cove Unit. The additional volume capacity for BUDM is needed for CP2 LNG (P20211131) berthing area construction, while retaining sufficient short-term capacity for BUDM associated with maintenance dredging at the CP1 LNG marine berthing area (P20150857). The proposed expansion will allow for an additional approximately 2,987,487 cubic yards of hydraulically dredged waterbottom material from both CP1 maintenance dredging and/or CP2 construction dredging to be placed beneficially within an additional 603.2 acres of open water and highly fragmented marsh within the CPNWR. Details for the proposed expansion are illustrated on Sheets 5 – 5c of the plats. 187399-may 13-1t $34.92
