PUBLIC NOTICE - - - Jefferson Parish Lead Safe Program – Contractor Open House Opportunity The Jefferson Parish Department of Community Development (JPDCD), in partnership with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), invites licensed, insured, and lead-certified residential contractors to attend an upcoming Open House in the River Ridge area as part of the Lead Hazard Control and Healthy Homes Program. Purpose: The Lead Safe Program is dedicated to making homes safer for families by identifying and addressing lead-based paint hazards and other health and safety issues as part of HUD’s Lead Hazard Control and Healthy Homes funding. This program prioritizes low- to moderate-income households, especially those with children under the age of 6. Contractor Opportunities: • Learn about new program changes, including updated bidding and procurement procedures. • Receive information on available assistance, such as support with training costs and umbrella insurance coverage to aid in program participation. • Understand how to become or stay an approved contractor eligible for future project bids and work under the program.
