PUBLIC NOTICE - - - Notice is hereby given that Upper Delta Soil & Water Conservation District has applied for a 401 Water Quality Certification to remove and replace two (2) weirs on Bayou Grosse Tete, one off Highway 441 near Livonia and one off Bigman Lane near Torbert, and a weir on Bayou Maringouin off Highway 76 near Maringouin. Bayou Grosse Tete and Bayou Maringouin will be dredged for 1000’ upstream of each weir site. Bayou Maringouin will also be dredged for approximately 4 miles north of Maringouin. In addition, Bayou Maringouin and Bayou Grosse Tete will be connected near Valverda Road through double 8’ x 8’ box culverts. Work will occur in Iberville and Pointe Coupee Parishes. Upper Delta Soil & Water Conservation District is applying to the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, Office of Environmental Services for a Water Quality Certification in accordance with statutory authority contained in the LAC 33:IX.1507.A-E and provisions of the 401 Clean Water Act.
