PUBLIC NOTICE - - - Notice is hereby given that the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury has applied for a 401 Water Quality Certification to clear, grade, excavate, and place fill to construct an in-line detention basin on Little Bayou D’Inde and two tributaries to provide flood mitigation and reduce structural damage associated with large storm events. Embankment and backslope ditch construction, culvert replacement, and additional inlet structures will be constructed along the perimeter of the basin to intercept overland flow to mitigate any flow impediments due to the constructed basin. Material excavated during construction will become property of the contractor and placed in a non-wetland location of the contractor’s choosing. All work will occur off Wright Road in Sulphur and near Carlyss in Calcasieu Parish. The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury is applying to the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, Office of Environmental Services for a Water Quality Certification in accordance with statutory authority contained in the LAC 33:IX.1507.A-E and provisions of Section 401 of the Clean Water Act.
