PUBLIC NOTICE - - - Notice is hereby given that the Tensas Parish Port Harbor and Terminal District has applied for a 401 Water Quality Certification to clear, grade, excavate, and place fill to construct a grain storage and barge loading facility on the right descending bank of the Mississippi River off LA Hwy. 3078 northwest of St. Joseph in Tensas Parish. The proposed work includes access road improvements and the construction of a 475' x 230' project pad with a truck turn-around, truck grain dump, and a bank of a minimum of four grain storage tanks. In addition, a 500’ grain conveyor with a barge loading system will be constructed, and approximately 6 mooring dolphins will be installed in the Mississippi River. The Tensas Parish Port Harbor and Terminal District is applying to the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, Office of Environmental Services, for a Water Quality Certification in accordance with statutory authority contained in the LAC 33:IX.1507.A-E and provisions of Section 401 of the Clean Water Act.
