PUBLIC NOTICE - - - CITY OF CENTRAL BY COUNCIL MEMBERS LAZAROE AND MCKINNEY: ORDINANCE NO. 2026-11 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE 2025-2026 FISCAL YEAR BUDGET TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS FOR ROAD REPAIRS AND TO PROVIDE FOR RELATED MATTERS WHEREAS, the Mayor of City of Central has received a listing of roads as part of the Pavement Management & Rehabilitation Plan that are in need of repair within the City of Central for the 2026-27 Road Rehab Project.; WHEREAS, the listing includes selected roads in Indian Mound Subdivision, Twin Lakes Subdivision, Rambling Oaks Subdivision, Ashford Lane, Carmel Acres Subdivision, and Comite Hills Subdivision that are in need of repair; WHEREAS, estimates to repair these roads is $3,204,400 and was not included in the 2025-2026 Fiscal Year Budget; WHEREAS, the Council desires to amend the Budget for 2025-2026 related to the above stated matters; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Central, State of Louisiana as follows: Section 1. Amendments to 2025-2026 Fiscal Year Budget and Related Matters: A. HC – Road Rehab (Capital Outlay & Improvement Fund Expenditure Acct No. 210.431.11.730) is hereby increased by $3,204,400 for road repairs. B. Transfer from HC-Rehab (Capital Outlay & Improvement Fund Revenue Acct No. 210.391.20.200) is hereby increased by $3,204,400 to transfer funds to Capital Outlay & Improvement Fund. C. Transfer to CO&I Fund (Half Cent Fund Expenditure Acct No. 120.491.21.200) is hereby increased by $3,204,400 to transfer funds to Capital Outlay and Improvement Fund. Section 2. Conflicts All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3. Severability If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or provision of this Ordinance is declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such declaration of invalidity shall not affect the validity of the Ordinance as a whole, or parts thereof, other than the part declared invalid. The remainder of the Ordinance shall not be affected by the declaration of invalidity and shall remain in force and effect. Section 4. Effective Date This Ordinance shall be effective upon publication. Introduced before the Council on May 12, 2026. Notice of public hearing was published in The Advocate on the 9th day of May, 2026. This Ordinance having been submitted to a vote; the vote thereon was as follows: For: Fralick, Lavergne, Lazaroe, McKinney, Myer and Roy Against: None Absent: Wells Abstained/Recused: None Adopted this 26th day of May 2026.
