PUBLIC NOTICE - - - - 2 - ANSE LA BUTTE FIELD 26-158 thru 26-163 LEGAL NOTICE STATE OF LOUISIANA, DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION AND ENERGY, BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA. In accordance with the laws of the State of Louisiana, and with particular reference to the provisions of Title 30 of Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, a public hearing will be held in the Hearing Room, 1st Floor, LaSalle Building, 617 North 3rd Street, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at 9:00 a.m. on WEDNESDAY, MAY 27, 2026, upon the application of J. P. VAN WAY. At such hearing the Department of Conservation and Energy will consider evidence relative to the issuance of Orders pertaining to the following matters relating to the Marg Tex Sand, Reservoirs F and H, in the Anse La Butte Field, Lafayette Parish, Louisiana. 1. To dissolve the existing drilling and production units created as the Marg Tex Sand, Reservoir F, SUA-SUE, created by Office of Permitting and Compliance Order No. 21-Q-10, effective January 26, 1982, and to simultaneously create a single reservoirwide drilling and production unit for the Marg Tex Sand, Reservoir H, designated as ALB MT RH SU in accordance with the provisions of LA R.S. 30:5(C) (Act 441 of 1960), for the exploration for and production of oil, gas and condensate from the Marg Tex Sand, Reservoir H, all as shown on the plat submitted with the application. 2. To require that the unit be operated in accordance with a plan of unit operation proposed in accordance with the aforesaid statute and the terms and provisions of the written Unitization Agreement, which will be approved by a minimum of three-fourths of the Working Interest Owners and Overriding Royalty Owners and three-fourths of the Royalty Interest Owners in the Unit Area, which said Unit Agreement will be filed with the Secretary of the Department of Conservation and Energy on or before the date set for the hearing. 3. To force pool and integrate all separately owned tracts, mineral leases and other property interest within the reservoirwide unit and all of the leases, mineral and royalty rights and other interest of every nature whatsoever relating to or affecting such lands, including the rights and interests of any and all parties who have not heretofore executed the written Unit Agreement therefore on a surface acreage basis of participation. 4. To designate J. P. Van Way as operator of the proposed reservoirwide unit. 5. To provide an appropriate unit allowable which may be produced from any well or wells completed in this reservoir which, in operator’s opinion, will efficiently and economically deplete the reservoir. 6. To authorize the drilling, completing or recompleting of additional wells, if deemed desirable, at optimum locations in the reservoir exempt from the spacing provisions contained in LAC 43:XIX.1901, et seq. (Statewide Order No. 29-E). 7. To authorize and provide for the operator of the unit to produce the reservoir at a maximum efficiency rate, including injection of water, by initiating, as required, upon proper showing of feasibility and after obtaining the written approval of the Secretary of the Department of Conservation and Energy and without the necessary of a public hearing, secondary recovery operations to increase the ultimate recovery of hydrocarbons minerals. 8. That except to the extent contrary herewith, the provisions of Order No. 21-Q-10, effective January 26, 1982, as amended and supplemented by the 21-Q Series of Orders, and all applicable Statewide Orders, should not apply to the proposed reservoirwide unit. 9. To consider such other matters as may be pertinent. The Marg Tex Sand, Reservoir H, is hereby defined as being the stratigraphic equivalent of that oil, gas and condensate bearing sand encountered between the depths of 10,664' and 10,714' (electric log measurements), in the J. P. Van Way-Nickerson No. 003 Well (SN 166158), located in Section 43, Township 9 South, Range 5 East. A plat is available for inspection in the Department of Conservation and Energy in Baton Rouge and Lafayette, Louisiana. http://dnr.louisiana.gov/conshearings All parties having interest therein shall take notice thereof.
