70 years of Martial Blessings!

70 years of Martial Blessings! Noel & Carrie Christy On the occasion of their 70th wedding anniversary, Noel Harrison Christy and Carrie Lee Ambeau Christy renewed their vows at Boudreaux's in a ceremony performed by Reverend Father Thomas Clark, a beloved pastor from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Scotlandville, Louisiana, their spiritual home for over 65 years and gave a beautiful reception. Surrounded by family and friends, near and far, the ceremony marked a beautiful milestone in their enduring love and commitment, which has been the foundation of their marriage since 1954. Their love story began at Southern University, and their union of five children was born: Levall, Felicia, Anita, Noel Jr. (deceased), and Dena. They are the proud and loving grandparents to 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Noel Harrison Christy, born in 1927 in Prairieville, a proud veteran of the Korean War, earned a B.S. in Biology and a Master's in Education Administration from Southern University. He spent 40 years in the Ascension School System, starting as a teacher and later becoming Assistant Principal at East Ascension High School, where he inspired many students. Noel is a member of several organizations, including Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and the American Legion. Carrie Lee Ambeau Christy, born in 1931 in Watson, Louisiana, a talented majorette and singer, earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Education and was one of the first African Americans to integrate the Ascension Parish School System. With 37.5 years of teaching experience, Carrie greatly impacted her students' lives. She is an active member of the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary Court #116, Pearls Civic and Social Club, the American Legion, and several educational associations. Their partnership, dedication to family, and service to the community have touched many lives. They have faced challenges with grace, celebrated joys, and left a lasting legacy of love and inspiration for future generations.
