PUBLIC NOTICE - - - PROCÈS VERBAL OF THE CANVASS OF THE VOTES CAST AT THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD IN THE PARISH OF LAFAYETTE, STATE OF LOUISIANA, ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2025. BE IT KNOWN AND REMEMBERED that on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 4:30 p.m., at its regular meeting place, the Council Auditorium, 705 West University Avenue, Lafayette, Louisiana, the Lafayette Parish Council (the "Governing Authority"), acting as the governing authority of the Parish of Lafayette, State of Louisiana (the "Parish"), and being the authority ordering the special election held therein on Saturday, November 15, 2025, with a quorum of the Governing Authority present did, in open and public session, examine the official certified tabulations of votes cast at the said election, and did examine and canvass the returns of the said election, there having been submitted at said election the following propositions, to wit: PROPOSITION NO. 1 OF 2 (MILLAGE CONTINUATION) Shall the Parish of Lafayette, State of Louisiana (the "Parish"), continue to levy a special tax of 4.47 mills on all property subject to taxation in the Parish (an estimated $12,743,000 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year), for a period of 10 years, beginning with the year 2027 and ending with the year 2036, for the purpose of constructing, improving and maintaining roads and bridges in the Parish, said millage to be continued at the rate currently being levied, representing a 0.30 mill increase (due to reappraisal) over the 4.17 mills authorized to be levied through the year 2026 pursuant to an election held on March 28, 2015? PROPOSITION NO. 2 OF 2 (MILLAGE CONTINUATION AND REDEDICATION) Shall the Parish of Lafayette, State of Louisiana (the "Parish"), continue to levy a special tax of 3.81 mills (the "Tax") on all property subject to taxation in the Parish, for a period of 10 years, beginning with the year 2026 and ending with the year 2035 (an estimated $10,861,000 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the Tax for an entire year), and shall the proceeds of the Tax heretofore or hereafter received be used for the purposes of constructing, acquiring, improving, maintaining, operating, and supporting public facilities and programs in the Parish as follows: (i) 1.24 mills for drainage; (ii) 0.422 mills for providing fire protection and all costs affiliated thereto; (iii) 0.078 mills for roads and bridges; and (iv) 2.07 mills for public health units, mosquito and other arthropod abatement and control, animal control, drainage, and paying mandated expenses of the coroner, said millage to be continued at the rate currently being levied, representing a 0.25 mill increase (due to reappraisal) over the 3.56 mills tax authorized to be levied through the year 2025 pursuant to an election held on March 28, 2015? There was found by said count and canvass that (i) there was a total of 6,892 votes cast IN FAVOR OF Proposition No. 1 and a total of 3,081 votes cast AGAINST Proposition No. 1, as hereinabove set forth, and it was further found and determined that there was a majority of 3,811 votes cast IN FAVOR OF Proposition No. 1 as hereinabove set forth and (ii) there was a total of 6,980 votes cast IN FAVOR OF Proposition No. 2 and a total of 2,977 votes cast AGAINST Proposition No. 2, as hereinabove set forth, and it was further found and determined that there was a majority of 4,003 votes cast IN FAVOR OF Proposition No. 2 as hereinabove set forth. Therefore, the Governing Authority did declare and proclaim and does hereby declare and proclaim in open and public session that the Propositions as hereinabove set forth were duly CARRIED by a majority of the votes cast by the qualified electors voting at the said special election held in the Parish on Saturday, November 15, 2025. Results by precinct are available from the Clerk of the Council of this Governing Authority during regular business hours or via the Louisiana Secretary of State’s website (voterportal.sos.la.gov). Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part of this Procès Verbal is a copy of the Notice of Special Election and proof of publication thereof.
